System Support Coordinator

Reporting to the Supervisor, Service Delivery

The System Support Coordinator will:

– Work as part of a dynamic team to provide a positive customer service experience for CS-IT clients
– Assist users at Tech Connect, the department’s walk-in support center, by troubleshooting technical issues, answering inquiries, and providing hands-on support for hardware and software
– Provide technical assistance to end-users, ensuring the effective functioning of hardware and software
– Help diagnose and resolve basic client hardware and software issues, escalating more complex problems as needed
– Support clients in using their computing environment
– Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and applications, including upgrades and testing
– Assist with reimaging machines and applying software updates and patches
– Help configure and set up new hardware, including peripherals and performing routine maintenance
– Follow established technical standards and procedures
– Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to resolve issues as required
– Assist in managing desktop images and software packages delivered through SCCM
– Support the setup of A/V equipment in committee rooms and help troubleshoot A/V issues

The successful candidate will possess:

– A diploma in Computer Systems Technician or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience 
– Basic experience in providing technical support and maintenance for desktop hardware, printers, and peripherals
– Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012
– Strong customer service and communication skills
– A willingness to learn and collaborate within a team environment
– Basic problem-solving and analytical skills with an eagerness to develop technical expertise
– Ability to work both independently and under supervision
– Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
– Capacity to foster mutual understanding in intercultural and interdepartmental interactions
– A valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

CUPE 1764 Salary Grade 4

This position is with Salary Grade 4 and will be paid at the following hourly rates:

– Start: $37.86 – Six Month: $39.97 – Job: $42.07
